DWM Faculty

    Owner/Director of Dance With Mitzi.  

Native of Boonville, NC- Graduate of  Starmount High School - 1 year at High Point College - BA in Industrial Psychology from UNC Charlotte, 1980.  Dancer &  Choreographer for Carolina Chargers (semi-pro football) 1979.  Opened Dance With Mitzi in March of 1981- Married Jerry Davis, Nov. 7,  1981-Moved to the current studio building in 1984-Master's Degree in Dance Education from UNC Greensboro, 1987- Visual Ensemble Director for Starmount High School Marching Band, under direction  of J.P. VanHoy, 1989-2000. Choir Director and lifelong member of Boonville United Methodist Church.

 Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Competition Companies 

A student at DWM for 15 years. Graduate of Appalachian  State University with a degree in Dance Studies.  Lindsey began teaching at  DWM in 2012. Instructor of technique classes in Jazz, Tap, and Contemporary, and choreographer  for Competition Companies, and is a choreographer for solos and duets.  She has received Choreography Awards for tap, lyrical and jazz dance pieces from regional competitions.  Married to Jonathan Hall.

Competition Companies

A student at Dance With Mitzi since age  3, Hannah has degrees in Business and Dance from  Salem  College, and became an instructor at DWM in 2016.  She teaches  Jazz , Tap, and Hip Hop technique classes, and is the  choreographer/instructor for Competition Companies.  She also choreographs solos and duets for the performance season. Along with her dance skills, Hannah is a frequent vocal soloist with her church choir at Boonville United Methodist Church.

Ballet

Sima began teaching Ballet and Jazz while attending the  University of Virginia as an undergraduate student. She graduated with a BS in Psychology and then later received a  Master's in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She continued to teach dance at a private studio in Charlottesville,  Va. while working at UVA Hospital.  Her experience includes teaching at Shorter College while living in Georgia and teaching at a  private studio in Illinois before moving to Elkin, North Carolina. She has enjoyed choreographing for several community theaters through  the years and continues to love teaching and choreographing ballet to middle school and early high school students at DWM. Sima is also a former DWM studio mom!

Ballet

Teaches senior ballet classes at Dance With Mitzi.  Trained at the NC School of the Arts, Boston Ballet School, and the Pennsylvania School of Ballet. Performed and trained in Rome and Spoleto, then  returned to NC to teach and perform as a soloist with the Charlotte  City Ballet. Attended college at UNC Charlotte, UNC Chapel Hill, and East Carolina University, graduating with a degree in Physical Therapy.  She is currently employed by Surry Community College as instructor and co-administrator of the Physical Therapist Asst. Program, and also works for Yadkin Valley Home Health. She is also a former DWM studio mom!
