Studio Policies

  Classes are offered on a 9-month basis, payable monthly. The dance year runs from September through May, ending with the annual recital. Prices are set on a MONTHLY RATE. FEES ARE PER ONE STUDENT ONLY.

NO REFUNDS OR PRICE REDUCTIONS WILL BE GIVEN. Fees for September are due upon registration. Following monthly fees (October though May) are due during the first week of each month. Fees paid after the 10th of each month will be subject to additional late fees of $10. No statements will be sent unless payment is delinquent. Those months having 5 class days will make up for holidays. Fees may be found on the Fee Schedule page.

ALL MONTHLY PAYMENTS ARE DUE THE 1STDAY OF EACH MONTH. LATE FEES WILL APPLY AFTER THE 10TH OF EACH MONTH. 

 DWM ACCEPTS CASH/CHECK/CARDS FOR ALL PAYMENTS.  ALL CARD TRANSACTIONS WILL HAVE AN ADDED 4% BANK FEE TO THE TOTAL.

COSTUME FEES  MAY BE PAID ON THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE : 

    COMPANY COSTUME PAYMENTS DUE IN SEPTEMBER.  

    TECHNIQUE RECITAL COSTUME FEES IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER. 

 BALLET, TAP.... Ages 4 and up. Ballet classes are required in order to be a student at Dance With Mitzi. Tap classes are optional, but are scheduled in conjunction with the ballet classes. 

POINTE.... The student will be allowed to study Pointe when body development is advanced, and skill level in ballet is high. Students must be at least in 6thgrade. Decision is made by instructor.

JAZZ...2nd grade and up, or by decision of instructor. 

HIP HOP...2 classes, Groups 3-6 eligible, Jazz required

CONTEMPORARY...2 Classes, Groups 4-6 eligible, Ballet required.

LITURGICAL...1 class, Groups 5-7 eligible, Includes Bible Study and church presentations.

PRODUCTION COMPANY...Groups 4-7 eligible.  Taught in 2 class groups. 

Ballet/Jazz/Tap/Contemporary required.  3 competitions.

COMPETITIONS.... Production Company and Tapline B will participate in 3 competitions  Tech Class Dances which are "competition ready"  will have the choice of participation as a class.   Dates given at registration.

RECITAL ...Each dance student is expected to participate in recital, held at the end of the dance year. Details will be given at various times throughout the year.

CELL PHONES: ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PLACE CELL PHONES IN IN THEIR DANCE BAGS  IN THE DANCE ROOM WHEN CLASSES BEGIN. (OR LEAVE THEM IN THE CAR.) PARENTS, PLEASE REINFORCE THIS POLICY WITH YOUR CHILD. IF YOU NEED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR CHILD DURING DANCE CLASS, PLEASE CALL THE STUDIO PHONE. 336-367-5151. THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TEXT DURING CLASSTIME. 

SNOW: CLASS CANCELLATIONS WILL BE SENT BY EMAIL, AND WILL POST ON FACEBOOK. THE STUDIO DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY FOLLOW THE SAME CLOSINGS OF ANY OF THE SCHOOL SYSTEMS. 

SPRING ACTIVITY/SPORT POLICY...STUDENTS ARE HIGHLY DISCOURAGED FROM MISSING CLASS FOR SPRING SPORT PRACTICE, EVENT, GAME, OR MEET, INCLUDING SOFTBALL, AAU SPORTS, OR THEATER PRODUCTIONS WHICH REQUIRE MULTIPLE ABSENCES FROM DANCE CLASSES. THIS POLICY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE MONTHS OF MARCH, APRIL, AND MAY. STUDENTS CANNOT BE IN 2 PLACES AT ONCE!  PLEASE MAKE THIS DECISION BEFORE REGISTERING FOR DANCE, SO THAT NO PROBLEMS WILL ARISE.
